The lockdowns across the world brought many changes to travelling. It ruined many plans to travel and move abroad including my own plans to do an internship in Istanbul.This unfortunate situation inspired me to think and look for a future solution for traveling and moving abroad in similar situations.

I found this solution in a crypto housing market of the future virtual world! A virtual world visitable from the comfort of your reallife home, using VR. RE-TRAVEL provides a short glimpse at my concept idea for this crypto housing market. To be more specific it shows a crypto apartments collection for a beautiful district of Istanbul called Uskudar.

Process -

For this project I had quite a lot of time compared to my other projects to think and do deep research about the subjects I wanted to address. This was a very fun process for me as I like to experiment a lot in the early stages of projects I work on. Right after a long research period I took some time to play with different ideas and concepts, so I started experimenting. As a medium based on the concept and story of this project I knew I wanted to use 3D software again. I used Blender. Because this project is about traveling to Istanbul I tried recreating a simplified version of Istanbul. For this I used the information I found in my research about Istanbul. Later on I chose to zoom in to a certain area of Istanbul known as Uskudar. For this I traveled through the streets with Google street view and took some 360 images of interesting buildings to recreate and started to experiment with them.
