As a young person growing up within two different cultures can cause confusion. It causes a lasting search for where you belong. The country in which you grew up, and the country where you have your family, friends and memories, can sometimes make you feel like a tourist. For this project I researched about the difficulties I experienced growing up within two cultures. How it shaped my personality and made me the man I am today. This research gave me a lot of clarity and answers. but it certainly doesn't end the search for my own identity within these cultures. With this work I want to provide insight into my thoughts, experiences, struggles and love that go along with this quest.
Process -
This project was challenging and because of that, a great learning experience. It was challenging because it was a personal topic. This was the first time I made a project focussing on myself which made it a bit hard. But, I knew there would be many people who share the same experience or felt the same way I did. This thought made this project a bit easier.I was already trying to get acquainted with the Blender software, so I knew early on it would be the right software to use for this project. It would help creating something different, something I wasn't used to creating normally.I wanted to experiment with a 3D model of my own head for this project, so this was a good reason to try sculpting in blender. For a base shape to start with, I used a 3D face scanning app. It helped to have something to start with even though it was not very detailed. Later on I projected video files onto the 3D head model and also experimented with strange materials.
